Maintenance

Maintenance
The landlord is obliged to maintain the house well both inside and outside, but as a tenant you are also obliged to maintain the accommodation. You are expected to do minor repairs yourself. This is called small daily maintenance.

Often the rental contract includes what is expected of you and what you can expect from the landlord. Some landlords use a checklist. This clearly indicates who is responsible for each maintenance item. As an example, you can check out SJHT's maintenance ABC. Via the keyword list you can quickly find out how the maintenance is distributed. There is a check mark next the description of each of the activities. The mark indicates who has to carry out and pay for the repair or have it carried out. If the mark is next to service costs, this is included in the advance that you pay monthly for service costs in the rent.

If your landlord has not informed you about this and there is nothing stated in your rental contract, ask your landlord what they expect from you and what you can expect from them.
