You are ready to start student life. You graduated high school, packed your stuff and registered for your new studies. The only thing missing is the perfect student residence. But don’t panic, you have come to the right place at Roomspot (at least if you are going to study in Twente).
Roomspot is a collaboration between SJHT, De Veste, University of Twente, Saxion University of Applied Sciences and the municipality of Enschede. At Roomspot, we prioritise the student’s interest. We believe it is important to find a nice place to live when you study in Twente. Roomspot is the best option when it comes to good, reliable and safe living, at a fair price
Living in Enschede
Enschede is one of the nicest student cities in the Netherlands. In 2018, Enschede was voted the best student city to live in. Currently approximately 10,000 students live in Enschede. A lot is organised for students, including the many student associations that make up student life. And then you also study in the region where more start-ups and revolutionary ideas get a foot on the ground than anywhere else in the Netherlands. Who wouldn't want to study here?
Enschede is a friendly city that has a lot to offer. There are large retail chains but also local shops that are worth visiting. You will never be bored as there are numerous student associations, fraternities, clubs, pubs, theatres and museums. In short, a wide variety of options and something for everyone. Of course a nice room is part of that!

Searching for a room via Roomspot is very easy. Just follow these six steps:
Step 1: Register as a home seeker. You can do this if you are 16 years or older. Registration is free and valid for one year, after which you can renew it.
Step 2: Create a search profile and receive email notifications.
Step 3: Look for a suitable offer - SJHT and De Veste add new homes regularly.
Step 4: Respond! If you see a room or apartment that you are interested in, you can respond with one click.
Step 5: Select and view properties. Candidates for apartments and studios are selected on the basis of a registration period or a drawing system. For rooms, this is done via so called ‘hospiteer’-evenings. This means that the current residents in that house choose the new roommate. If you are invited to come over, you can often view the room immediately. After these evening(s) you will hear whether the room is yours or not.
Step 6: Submit your details, these will be checked and after that you can sign the lease.
